+1 to the Merchant Family!

We've decided to keep a blog to update our family and friends about our grand family adventure to Taiwan to pick up Malia Lien-Fang Kahikina Merchant, the newest member of our family. Malia was born on July 7, 2012, and lives in Taipei with her foster family. The boys are skipping out on two weeks of school to come and meet their new sister and to get to know her homeland a little.

"The Call"

     The office phone trills its electronic summons...I see it's Shelley and pick up.  "Are you sitting down?" she asks.
     "Yep,"
     "Our pick up date for Malia is April 29th, at 10:30 a.m."
     Silence.  "Wow!  Seriously?"
     "Yep, just got a call from Jaydee."
     "What happened to the first decree and then the second hearing or decree or whatever it is?"
     "She didn't know when or whether the first decree was signed or anything about the second decree...but we have a pick up time."
     "Wow, that means we leave in about 3 1/2 weeks."
     "Yeah, we're going to be busy!"

    So excited for all of you! It sounds just like us! We didn't even know about our first ruling and then get a call that we would be travelling in a month. Looks like you are already have a great time there!
