First day observation: We've seen lots of logo t-shirts and t-shirts with sayings on them, but not one of them has been written with Chinese characters. With the single exception of a Ukrainian soccer jersey, they've all been in English.
First day anecdote: Jonathan and I were in the men's room at the train station at the urinals, when a female cleaning lady came out of a side supply room, walked right behind us, and out the door. Clearly, it was a normal occurrence and it was so nonchalant that Jonathan didn't do anything more than raise an eyebrow and then chuckle about it afterwards.
Weather permitting, off to Taipei 101 and the Zoo/Gondola today!
+1 to the Merchant Family!
We've decided to keep a blog to update our family and friends about our grand family adventure to Taiwan to pick up Malia Lien-Fang Kahikina Merchant, the newest member of our family. Malia was born on July 7, 2012, and lives in Taipei with her foster family. The boys are skipping out on two weeks of school to come and meet their new sister and to get to know her homeland a little.

First family picture!
Have you guys seen the squatty potties yet? My then 4 year old had me take a picture of it so he could show his friends at preschool!
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah. The kids were fascinated, too. Shelley and I have traveled throughout Asia, so we've seen plenty of them -- and used them, too!
